Reverend Monsignor Hilary Franco, the Advisor to the PermanentObserver Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations New York was the main celebrant of the Mass on October 4 for the Feast of the Madonna di Pompei. The concelebrants were Fr. LeonirChiarello, c.s. , Fr. Lydio Tomasi,c.s., Fr. Walter Tonelotto, c.s. The Holy Rosary started at 11:30 followed by the Solemn Mass at 12:00P.M. The altar servers were Andre Zabala, Ed Pascual and Jun Makinano. The liturgical music were in English and Latin provided by the San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir of New York, the Brazilian Community Choir and Italian Choir. Bernard de Leon was the lead cantor. The Kairos Kids participated in the offering of flowers. The Readings and Prayer of the Faithful were read in Portuguese, Italian, English and Tagalog. The Supplica was recited in Italian led by Msgr. Franco after the Mass.
The sun came out just in time for the start of the Marian procession. It was indeed a beautiful day to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Pompeii. Happy Feast Day to All!
